Osteopathy services

Gentle hands. Lasting change. Fast relief.

Osteopathy at Perfect Balance focuses on understanding how your body moves, adapts and compensates, and how those patterns contribute to pain, stiffness or recurring injury. Our osteopaths use hands-on assessment and treatment to reduce pain, restore movement and support recovery, always as part of a wider, joined-up care approach. Whether symptoms appeared suddenly or have built up over time, osteopathy helps address the underlying cause,  not just the painful area.

About Osteopathy

What is osteopathy?

Osteopathy is a form of healthcare that focuses on how the structure of the body influences function. It recognises that joints, muscles, nerves and connective tissues work together, and that pain often develops when movement, load or alignment is disrupted. At Perfect Balance, osteopathy is used to:

  • Improve joint mobility and tissue health

  • Reduce muscle tension and irritation

  • Support circulation and nervous system function

  • Restore confidence in movement

Treatment is always guided by assessment, explanation and clinical reasoning, never routine or generic.

Who is osteopathy for?

People often seek osteopathy when pain is limiting daily life, sport or work, or when symptoms keep returning despite previous treatment. Osteopathy may help if you’re experiencing:

  • Neck pain or low back pain

  • Headaches or migraines

  • Disc-related pain or sciatica

  • Joint stiffness or arthritis

  • Sports or overuse injuries

  • Shoulder problems, including rotator cuff pain

  • Postural strain from work, driving or pregnancy

  • Muscle tension or recurrent strains

Many clients come to us without a clear diagnosis. Our role is to assess, explain and guide you from your very first session.

What to expect from your first osteopathy session

At Perfect Balance, osteopathy is never delivered in isolation. Your osteopath will assess how your spine, pelvis, joints and movement patterns work together, then tailor treatment based on what’s contributing to your symptoms. Where appropriate, care may be coordinated with physiotherapy, sports therapy, rehabilitation or diagnostic services. It includes:

  • A detailed discussion of your symptoms and history

  • Movement, joint and soft-tissue assessment

  • Clear explanation of findings

  • Hands-on treatment where appropriate

  • A plan for recovery and next steps

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in. You’re welcome to bring someone with you if that helps you feel at ease.

Techniques your osteopath may use

Treatment at Perfect Balance is selected based on your presentation and comfort. Techniques may include:

  • Joint mobilisation or manipulation

  • Soft-tissue techniques

  • Medical acupuncture (where appropriate)

  • Exercise and movement guidance

  • Taping or support strategies

  • Postural and biomechanical assessment

Everything is explained. Nothing is done without consent.
